Mugs and Jugs Intermediate Throwing Workshop
Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th March 2-4.30pm
In this workshop our tutor Meg will take you through all the steps needed throw, trim and handle a variety of mugs and jugs. Meg specialises in wheel thrown pottery, employing traditional techniques such as pulled handles and fluid slip decoration. This is a brilliant opportunity for makers who have grasped the basics of wheel thrown pottery to start developing a more personal style.

The workshop will take place over two days. Saturday morning will be perfecting your thrown forms and adding spouts to jugs, followed by learning to pull handles and slip decorate (optional) on the Sunday.
You will be able to keep 4 pieces to be fired and glazed with a transparent, white or honey glaze by our technicians, and these will be available to collect from the studio 3-4 weeks after the workshop. (Extra work will be charged as £4/kg)
To attend this workshop you need to be able to comfortably centre and lift at least 1lb of clay.
All materials and tools are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own tools if you prefer.

We will email you when your work is ready to collect after 3-4 weeks, and you can come and collect your pots on Sundays between 11am and 2pm.

We keep work for 2 months after emailing, after which we have to dispose of the work as we have limited storage space.

***Please bring a towel and an apron for the duration of the course as you will get messy! (We do sell these if you need them, but we do not have any to borrow due to the cleaning this creates for us.)***

Please ensure that you have short nails and long hair tied back for throwing, and any jewellery should be removed from your hands and wrists. long nails should be trimmed short as this will seriously hinder your ability to throw.

Please ensure that you can attend all sessions as we cannot offer space to catch up a session in other classes.
