This course caters for all abilities, from beginners to advanced makers
Each session is 2 hours long.
Beginners will be taught the fundamental handbuilding techniques of Ceramics used for creating functional and sculptural Ceramics, including surface decoration and glazing.
Makers with prior experience can carry out their own projects, with or without support from the tutor.
Once you have completed the course, beginners can book onto the potters wheel course to develop their throwing skills or continue in the Handbuilding class for handbuilding projects.
We also regularly offer one-off workshops and masterclasses covering further techniques that can help you to develop your practice.
The course includes 3kg of fired ceramics, any extra will be charged at £4 per kg.
We will email you when your work is ready to collect after 3-4 weeks, collection slots are on Sundays between 10am and 4pm. We keep coursework for 2 months after emailing, after which we have to dispose of the work as we have limited storage space.
Please ensure that you can attend all sessions as we cannot offer space to catch up a session in other classes.

Location and access:
7 Spot Pottery, Islington Mill, 1 James Street, Salford, M35HW.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the class starts.
The building is normally locked, so please call your tutor when you arrive. Their number will be on the front door for access.
Unfortunately there is currently no wheelchair access to the studio, the only access is via stairs.
